Methodology: ATG's Adaptive Delivery Framework (ADF)

ATG Professional Services has developed an Adaptive Delivery Framework (ADF) to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery throughout all our project engagements. The ADF brings together expertise and best practices, including project templates, existing work samples, and lessons learned.

The ADF is used to create repeatable delivery processes from project to project to provide a consistent look and feel for all ATG project deliverables. We have devised well-defined processes to mitigate risks. This includes identifying potential bottlenecks in order to implement preventative measures and contingency actions. The ADF outlines clear processes for managing change requests so you have a clear understanding of how requested changes will effect the time and budget of the project. This helps to avoid schedule delays and cost overruns.

The ADF is client focused, giving ATG the flexibility to meet your specific needs within a proven delivery framework. We apply only those project "modules" that are appropriate for your project requirements. We continually update this framework to meet changing market requirements.

Resident ATG subject matter experts (SMEs) are available for each module of the ADF process, advising ATG consultants as needed. Each SME specializes in a particular project or technology area, and provides research assistance and specialized advice to ATG consultants.

Our Methodology in Practice

We apply the ADF methodology to each of our service models, and because of the ADF's flexible, modular structure, we can adapt it to your specific project type. By allowing ATG project managers to pick and choose appropriate elements of the ADF for your project, we provide value and predictability without adding undue overhead.

Full Lifecycle projects

The complete ADF is applied in a full-lifecycle engagement. The project is managed according to the deliverables and milestones outlined in the ADF, from feature definition through design, implementation, and testing, to deployment, performance tuning, and hand-off to the client or another support team. All of the tools, templates, and best practices provided as part of the ADF may be used in this type of project.

Custom solutions

A custom solution may include only a portion of the full project lifecycle. The modular nature of the ADF lends itself well to this type of project. Dependencies of each module are clearly identified so the ATG team knows what needs to be done prior to its direct involvement. Only those portions of the project that are being executed by ATG need to be addressed and supported by the tools, templates, and best practices of the ADF.

Structured enablement

In this type of engagement, ATG reviews work done by the client or a third-party service provider. The checklists and templates provided in pertinent modules of the ADF can serve as invaluable tools during these reviews. In addition, the best practices embodied in the ADF can be applied to the work being done to ensure that the project is on course for successful completion.
